Working for almost 15years, each day at the office was a learning day. Now heading a team and reporting to higher ups, one feel that not many have backbone to stand straight and tall when they come under pressure. In various places I have worked, even the best of bosses at some point turned it on you with a big lie or double standard. These are genuinely nice natured people; due to the importance in them self and as an art of survival and portrayal these denial happen. Pressures make them change but there are very few who don't change their personality under these situations.
Now, In every organization Sales is considered the key and operations take the back seat. But many bosses don't know to differentiate the two departments. Bosses mix up to such and extent they try to drive operations from a remote location. Sales can be driven but operations need someone to be physically present and monitor each and every moments and services. If any one claims that they can run operation from a remote location, they are only trying to fool the the management.
At present, many companies are coming with a bigger designation and monetary benefit for client servicing than sales. The importance of retention of a client has become as important as a new client. Only now organization's realize that service are the bones and sales are the lovely muscles we build.
