As ICL revealed their list of players BCCI's heart was pounding. BCCI reacted by sacking Kapil Dev as a NCA coach. It's interesting that Zee has come up with this innovative idea of starting a league like in another other professional cricket playing countries. Well, views of ICL is attracting ex cricketer and young bloods from our own country will not add value to our talent should be from the pessimist view. Players like Warne, Macgrath, Inzy, Razzag have all just quit and opted to represent ICL. Playing against and with them will definetly sharpen the skills of our young bloods. To play Warne or Macgrath one need to lift their standards and with continuous exposure to the bowling and batting can only result in our players getting better. So what does they have to lose? Well its sad that BCCI would not consider players from ICL. These young and talented players can only get better to represent India to give more bench strenght. Unfortunately BCCI has taken it as a threat and reacting and sometime over reacting too. I only with if BCCI could consider ICL as a pipe line to stream young talent with proper channelising of money and mind to make Indian team better.
Comments on ICL recruits only ex players - well the offer is so tempting and the atmosphere is so electric that even the current player will resign to make a bigger career with huge monetary benefits. Some compare to kerry packers - kerry packer lured current players and ICL had not lured by approaching maybe but certainly and I am sure that the seniors of current Indian team should be very happy since they can hang their shoes anyday and still get paid more and play the game that they loved for year. The Ganguly's, Kaif's etc need not worry now for a Chappell or any other kind of high handedness as now they have a better option knocking at their doors. Unless BCCI thinks ICL as their suppliers and talents nuturer, Indian cricket might be sucked out of real talent in future by banning players playing for ICL.
